Walking across the unkempt streets of Midgar, you glanced at many people that you suspected to be infected with the deadly ‘disease’, Geostigma. You only wished you could help them, but you too were affected with the virus. You had heard there was no cure, but you had a little bit of hope left.

A loud roaring was heard of the sound of a vehicle driving down the road. You turned you head behind you and barely saw Cloud’s Fenrir pass you in one fast rapid motion. The immediate push of wind bouncing off the bike, caused your _____(h/c)_____ to blow in the wind wildly. You gave out a little cough from the large patches of dust that filled the air but it eventually disbanded. You blinked your eyes a few time, and saw the Fenrir in the distance. Sighing, you continued walking towards your destination.

(TimeSkip!~)

After about an hour of walking, you opened the doors and was welcomed into the bar that was known as, 7th Heaven.

“Hey, __________! Glad you could make it. I wanted to speak to you.” Tifa’s voice was heard from the room, as you looked at her and gave her a soft smile. The day you became infected with Geostigma, Cloud had found you and took you to Tifa’s bar. You were eternally grateful for Cloud finding you, and Tifa letting you stay here. You walked towards where Tifa was behind the bar, and sat down on a stool in front of her.

“Sure, what is it?” She set down a glass, alongside a rag that she was using to clean it, and looked at you with worry.

“Cloud came by here earlier. And you know it’s been weeks since we’ve seen him.” You sighed in exasperation. She was scolding you, of course. Every time you missed Cloud’s visits, it make you and Tifa upset. You had strong feelings for the spikey blonde haired guy that even Tifa knew because it was so obvious. Everyone practically knew… except for Cloud himself. It was always so difficult talking to him because he was constantly distant, and never made much conversation with you.  You rubbed you face with your hands,

“I know, I’m sorry.” Dropping your hands back to your lap, Tifa smiled and gestured behind you,

“I’m not the one you should be apologizing to.” She gave you a goofy smile as you turned around quickly and saw Cloud standing in the doorway.

“Cloud!” You jumped from your seat and rushed over to Cloud, only to engulf him into a hug. He grunted in surprise from your hug, and awkwardly patted your back. You were so excited to see him, you had entirely forgotten about his, ‘personal space’. Remembering this, you let go of him and back up a few feet.

“Sorry.” Cloud walked past you and went upstairs. You thought he was just being ignorant, but this was Cloud. Though you couldn’t help feel a little hurt.

“Don’t take it so hard, _________. You know how Cloud is.” You looked at Tifa and nodded and walked back over to sit down. You sat in silence until you heard heavy footsteps coming back down the stairs. Turning your head, you saw Cloud again with a package in his hand.

“Is that the only reason why you came back, Cloud?” Tifa spoke out as you sat there in quiet still. Cloud kept walking but said in an indistinct tone,

“I still have things to do.”  With that, he left the bar as you heard the Fenrir driving
off. Tifa sighed and shook her head as you tapped the countertop with your fingertips silently. She grabbed a dirty glass that was laying on the counter and started cleaning it in the sink.

“Do you need any help?” Tifa shook her head and turned around while drying off the cup,

“I got everything handled here. You should go visit Marlene and Denzel, they’re at the church today. I’m quite surprised they left this morning.” You nodded and left from your seat and headed out. The sun beat down on you as you walked outside into the sunlight. Loud sounds of vehicles and machinery was heard as you made your way to the church.

(Another TimeSkip!~)

Finally arriving at the church, you noticed Cloud’s Fenrir parked outside. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion and made your way inside. The wooden floor creaked beneath you as you walked inside.

“__________!” Suddenly before you could react, Marlene and Denzel both jumped on you for a hug, bringing you all down to the floor. You three laughed as you returned the big squeeze they were giving you. Letting go, the two children stood up, as did you. You wiped the dirt off of you that got on you from the dull floor, as you looked at Cloud and gave him a devious smile.

“So… this is the things you had to do?” You heard Marlene stifle a giggle, as you looked at her and smiled brightly as her adorability.

“Marlene, let’s go play outside!” Denzel abruptly took Marlene’s hand and basically dragged her outside with him, leaving you and Cloud by yourself. Even though you had known Cloud for pretty much a year, you always found yourself unable to talk to him and just feeling embarrassed at it. You looked around the church in awe as you saw a flower patch in the middle of the place. It was rare to find flowers in Midgar, so you’d always come here to take care of them sometimes. Sometimes you’d even find Cloud here taking care of them.

“You still have it?” Cloud’s voice broke through your admiring, as you noticed he was a few feet away from you now. How did you not hear him approaching you? You looked down and showed him your arm where the Geostigma was on you. He took your arm in his hands as he stared at the noticeable disease in disgust. “You should hide this instead of it being entirely visible like this.” He mumbled in such a low tone.

“I know. The temperature has been rising lately, I’m not really fond of the idea of wearing a coat in 90 degree weather.” You gave out a snicker as Cloud looked at you with his Mako infused eyes. You always knew Cloud didn’t have much hope about this, none at all really, but you wanted to be there so he could have at least some anticipation. He stared at you with a detached expression, before letting go of your arm and giving out a deep sigh. He rubbed the back on his neck and gazed out towards somewhere else in the room.

“I… apologize for always being so cold with you. It’s just the way I am.” You were shocked- stunned that Cloud just said that. ’He… apologized?’ You didn’t know how to react since Cloud has always been one to never really express any emotion towards you, or anybody for that matter.

“It’s okay.” He looked at you as you gave him a soft smile showing you accepted his apology.

“I want to make it up to you…” He pondered for a moment as you stood there in wonder of what he was going to do. He looked at you immediately, which you predicted he had an idea. “You can help me deliver if you want.” Exhilaration filled you as he spoke these words. You had never been out of the rural parts of Midgar, so you were excited to do so, and with Cloud no other. You nodded quickly and overwhelmed him into a tight hug once again to show you were thankful. He hesitated for a minute before returning your embrace gently. You never had seen him show such feelings towards anyone, so you wanted to stay there for as long as you possibly could. After a while you let go, but Cloud kept holding you in his arms.

“I don’t get it.” You became confused at his words,

“Get what?” Looking up at him the best you could, you saw him looking out in front of him, not looking at you.

“I can’t protect anyone… yet you stay with me. You, Tifa, Marlene, Denzel, all of them. I was never able to protect anybody, no matter how much I try.” You heard the distress in his voice as you moved in his arms to where your faces were inches apart. You stared into his beautiful blue eyes,

“We stay because we love you. Nothing’s happened to us yet, so you should know you do a wonderful job at keeping us safe.” He gave a sigh that was barely heard as he looked away from you, but still kept holding you close.

“But I’m just waiting for the day I mess up and-” Tired of his complaining, you brusquely planted a kiss on his lips which completely surprised him, as it did you as well. You heart began racing more than it already was, as your face heated up, and your mind went wild. You were surprised at your sudden courage to do so, but you kissed him in such a short time before breaking it. He let go of you sometime during the kiss, so you backed away from him a few feet.

“S-sorry.” You were about to turn around and leave but Cloud interrupted it by gradually grabbing your face in his hands and kissing you, somewhat rough but tender. The kiss didn’t last long, as he moved back, breaking the kiss, and giving you the smallest smile.

“Don’t be.” You smiled back until you heard a throat being cleared behind you. Turning around, you saw Marlene and Denzel standing there amused. Marlene giggling, whereas Denzel had a huge grin on his face.

“What are you two laughing at?” You crossed your arms and chuckled at them. Cloud shook his head in enjoyment as Marlene ran up to you two and took both your hands.

“Come play with us outside before you have to leave again!” She started jerking your hand in a gesture to go outside with her and Denzel. Both of you obliged and walked outside laughing.

“Alright, but no jumping in the rain puddles!”

Even in times like this, you found a way to be happy with the ones you love. No matter what.

My FF OC is susceptible to another disease I made for my stories called Serpent Sickness (she can turn into a sea serpent). She becomes unable to move and loses control of her powers
