You sniffed. Tears forming in the corners of your eyes, you shivered and sobbed on the cold metallic floor. Sitting on your knees you were upmost shocked yet, had the feeling your heart was forever gone. You thought about him. You thought why, how, he was gone when it still felt like he was here. You just expected one day to wake up and see him downstairs reading the newspaper with a coffee mug in his hand. Then he’d look at you and smile while telling you good morning, and give you a kiss and just hold you. You just kept hoping that this was just a nightmare. That it wasn’t real, it couldn’t be real. That you would just wake up and feel yourself being safe and secure in his arms again.
But you knew you wouldn’t.
“__________?!” A loud voice was distinctly heard, but you ignored it. You were too much worried and devastated to pay attention to anything right now. A hand was quickly placed on your shoulder as you tilted your head up to see Gilbert Beilshmidt kneeling down in front of you with worry in his eyes. “Vhat happened?! Where’s meine bruder?!” He shook you slightly, while done pleading. You started to sob once again as you shook your head rapidly. You placed your face into the palm of your hands as you tried to cry silently. You felt his hands slowly leave your shoulders. Looking up you saw him pacing back and forth slowly while running a hand in his snowy white hair. “How could this happen? This couldn’t have happened…” He whispered to himself. You looked down at the floor in a daze as you didn’t understand anything anymore. You had just got news that your fiancé, Ludwig, has gone missing from the war for at least six months. You were informed that he was suspected dead, and wasn’t coming back.
After the longest time, you were picked up into a hug as you just stayed there, like you were paralyzed but standing.
“Don’t vorry. He’s still out there… I know it.” You didn’t believe it. No matter how much you wanted to believe it, you couldn’t. Gilbert let go of you and looked straight at you. “You should get some rest. It’s…” He paused to sigh. “It’s been a rough day.” You nodded as he gave you one more hug that seemed to last for an eternity. He let himself out as you still stood there, not moving a muscle. That was until you looked down at your left hand and stared at the engagement ring Ludwig had proposed to you before he left to go to war. Looking back up you began staring at the front door. Hoping it would suddenly blast open to reveal him standing there. You still had some hope left. Maybe it was enough to bring him back home.
After what seemed hours, you dreadfully walked slowly upstairs to go to bed. You didn’t even bother changing into you night clothes, you just fell into bed. Staring up at the ceiling, you anticipated so much that he was safe and he wasn’t really gone. Tears came back to your eyes as you fell asleep while weeping silently.
(Flashback!~)
“Hey Ludwig?” He grunted in response and looked at you. “Do you… do you think we’ll be together forever?” He gave you a warm smile and kissed the top of your head.
“Of course liebling. Forever und ever.” You worryingly pondered for a moment as you opened
your mouth to speak,
“So you won’t ever hate me no matter what, right?” He let go of you and looked at you with confusion etched onto his face.
“Of course I vouldn’t, vhy would you ask me something like that?” You scratched the back of your neck, then sighed with annoyance.
“Because we’ve been eating wurst ever since we moved in together! Can we please have something else for dinner tonight? It’s ruining my appetite…” You looked up at him nervously as you saw he was looking at you blankly. He blinked his eyes a few times before giving out a chuckle. He gave you another hug,
“Of course my liebling. Anything for you. Though I’m still going to eat it.” You smiled and hugged back.
“That’s fine with me.” After a few minutes of silent you spoke up. “I love you, Ludwig.” Hearing your words you felt his grip around you tighten like he didn’t want to let go.
“And I love you, __________.”
(End of flashback!~)
You jolted up awake suddenly as you had thought he was back home. Nothing. You gave out a sad sigh and rubbed your tired eyes, which had dried up tears around them and down your cheeks. You abandoned the warmth of your bed and headed towards the bathroom.
You stood in front of the mirror and stared at your disheveled hair, with your slightly puffy face and red eyes, you sniffed a few times while staring emptily into the mirror.
“Please still be out there.” You muttered these words under your breath in a low whisper. You wiped your eyes the best you could and exited the bathroom.
(Six years later!~)
Six years. Six long years without him. You had been doing better, but depression and thoughts of Ludwig still sometimes had overcome you at times. You laid sprawled out onto your couch as you were watching (Favorite Show) on television. You glanced up at the clock and noticed it was time to make dinner. Sighing, you pushed yourself off of the couch and headed towards the kitchen.
While preparing your meal, the house was completely silent. It had been that way for the entire six years practically. Gilbert would sometimes visit you to make sure you were still okay, even though you were fine now. And when he did, the whole house was filled with the opposite of silent.
A loud noise of the sound of your front door was opened came about. You looked that way in confusion and walked out of the kitchen to see who it was. You walked slowly to be cautious that it wasn’t an intruder breaking into your home. You looked around the corner and saw a figure standing there in the doorway…
… It was him.
You mouth gawked open in shock as tears began forming in your eyes. He dropped his travel bag as he caught the sight of you. Staring at each other for the longest time, you ran towards him and submerged him into a tight hug. His muscular, and familiar, arms wrapped around you securely, as you sobbed in his arms.
“I’m back my geliebte…” He shushed you quietly, but you continued to cry anyways.
“I – I thought you were gone… that you had left me forever.” You said between sobs. He placed his hands firmly on your shoulders and pushed you back a little. His baby blue eyes stared straight into your (_____e/c_____) ones for a few minutes before he leaned in and gave you a passionate kiss. Boom.
[F/n] ran her hands through her hair, nails digging her scalp.
I just want to make the pain go away.
The mute screech stuck on her hoarse throat, because sounds wouldn’t make any difference, the explosions and screams made an overwhelming mixture, drowning her thoughts, pounding over her ears, dragging her down.
Bang
Her legs were smashed against her chest, currently a bleeding mess; the camouflage from her clothes a useless thing now.
The salty, iron like smell filled her nostrils.
Not too far away from where she was, gunshots could be heard through the wind, mixed with the yel

You stood behind Ludwig in an awkward stance. He was currently laying down his bedding, but you couldn't lay down yours because, well, you didn't have any.
Your stomach growled and you stiffened. You really hoped Beildschmidt didn't hear it. He continued to smooth down his makeshift bed, but didn't say anything.
Phew.
"When was the last time you ate?"
OH FOR (insert word here)'S SAKE!
You sighed, "2 days ago."
Your stomach rumbled just to emphasize your point. After all, that thing had a mind of it's own. If yo

Today was Valentine's Day and you, having no one to spend it romantically with, was in the comfort of your home. You sat on the couch, leaning your face onto your fist, staring half-lidded at the TV screen before you.
You were watching some stupid romance comedy that you had forgotten what the name was. Just for fun, you picked up the remote and threw it at the TV. It turned off the TV and you tilted your head back and groaned. Who knew Valentine's Day could be so boring?
You stared at the ceiling, searching for an answer to kill your boredom. You suddenly was sprung with an idea that will not only kill your boredom, but make you feel more
