Literature Text

“When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end,
The goddess descends from the sky.
Wings of light and dark spread afar,
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting.”

You closed your eyes as your _____(h/c)_____ colored hair was blown in the tranquil wind. Taking a deep breath of the outdoor air, you heard the faint sound of someone breathing inaudibly beside you.

“Infinite in mystery, is the gift of the Goddess, we seek it thus, and take to the sky. Ripples form on the water’s surface, the wandering soul knows no rest.” You opened your eyes to the sunset glimmering as best as it could before it went away. Turning your head, you saw the familiar auburn hair, with head to toe in red and black leather. Genesis Rhapsodos.

You said with a proud voice,

“There is no hate, only joy, for you are beloved by the goddess. Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds.” Genesis looked at you and smiled,

“Have you been reading in my book again?” You chuckled at his question and shook your head,

“No. I’ve just heard you recite that poem so much, I remember.” You looked down and ran a hand through the warm grass you were sitting on. You saw in the corner of your eye, Genesis leaning up against a nearby tree, continuing to read the poem, LOVELESS. Every time you saw him, he’d always have that book in his hands. However, it never irritated you. You actually enjoyed listening to him narrate the poem lovingly, it helped make everything calm for you. You’ve known Genesis for as long as you could recall, even from when you were children. He used to be so happy, now… he’s changed. You always tried to ignore it, but you felt as you couldn’t just let it go. Long ago, Genesis used to be a part of SOLDIER, but he told you he had bigger reasons to not stay there, so he left. Now ever since, you always come here near dusk, and wait for him to show, though it wasn’t always certain he would.

You looked over at Genesis, whose eyes were fixated on the LOVELESS poetry book in full interest. Sighing, you stood up from the ground and brushed off any left dirt on your clothes. Curiosity filled you about this, ‘goddess’ as you straightened your posture and looked out towards the lowering sun.

“I wonder what the goddess looks like?” Turning your head towards Genesis, you saw he had lifted his head from LOVELESS, and had moved his attention onto your statement, rather question. You knew he considered it a question, since he was so fascinated on the goddess herself. You heard him sigh as he shut the book in his hands and slid it in to a pocket in his red leather coat. You watched as he pushed himself away from the tree and walked towards you in a composed manner. Stopping next to you, he gave you a soft smile,

“That is one of the many mysteries I would have to predict.” You stared at him for a few moments before looking back out over the cliff you were standing on. After a while you hadn’t heard anything from Genesis, so you turned your attention back to him and saw he was staring at you in a favorable way. You looked at him confused as you stared into his light azure eyes for a while before he spoke up.

“I have the vaguest idea of what the goddess may look like however, the goddess could not ever be a match to the comparison.” His words took a while to sink in as you questionably stared at him for the longest time. He took your face in his hands as he stared at you with an impassive look.

“Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul, pride is lost. Wings stripped away, the end is nigh.” Saying this verse in an emphasized way, he let go of your face and looked out towards the sunset. You, still being staggered, just studied his striking features that the remaining sunlight bounced off of. Noticing you had been observing him for a while, you looked behind you to shield away your blushing face, hoping Genesis wouldn’t notice. You felt a sudden gush of wind, oddly near you, as you turned to see what it was.

You perceived that a black feathered wing was now attached to Genesis’ body. Your eyes widened at the sight, this seemed so surreal to you, but you weren’t afraid. He’s actually shown you this before. A dismayed and mortified expression filled Genesis’ face as he seemed he didn’t want to look at you.

“I’m...” He started. “A monster.” He shook his head slightly in a shameful way, as you looked at him consolingly. You walked in front of him, making him glance at you somewhat.

“You aren’t a monster, Genesis. A monster is someone who is frightening, and is highly discourteous. Last time I checked, you aren’t either one of those things.” You gave him a minor smirk as he lifted his head so he could look at you. He didn’t say anything, but just stared at you as you hesitantly lifted a hand and gently ran it over the wing. The soft sensation of the feathers brushed against the skin on your hand. You looked at him for a second but looked back at the wing. “Can you take me flying?” He looked at you shockingly, but he stayed silent for a while before taking your hand and wrapping his other arm around your waist.

“Hold on.” Hearing his words you latched onto his leather coat as you both were ascended into the sky. You watched the sky above you come closer, and felt the ground below you getting farther away.

“My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?
All that awaits you is a somber morrow
No matter where the winds may blow.”

You looked at Genesis who looked entirely focused on flying with you in his arms. The sounds of flapping from the wing was heard, that and the sound of the heavy blows of the wind in the air. Genesis looked at you as you beamed at him, reassuring him you were okay. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly but they went back to normal.

After spending a long time flying in the newly night sky, Genesis gently lowered you back down to the ground. You were mildly surprised of his generousness, for usually he acted arrogant and childish wherever, so you were grateful at his sudden change. Still clutching onto his leather coat, you didn’t realize the sudden closeness between you two as you felt your cheeks start to burn with embarrassment. Genesis looked into your _____(e/c)_____ colored orbs as he sighed with content.

“My friend, your desire, is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess.” He placed the palm of his hand against your blushing cheek, as you felt immediately astounded at his sudden actions. He leaned forward as you felt his warm breath on your lips as he spoke another verse. “Even if the morrow is barren of promises…” The last thing you saw was the peaceful look on his face before you closed your eyes as he kissed you gradually.

“Nothing shall forestall my return.”
As always, really sorry if he's OOC. Thnotforgiven  Portraying characters isn't as easy as it sounds heh... But anyway! I would think that Genesis would be a smooth talker, you know... poetry and fluff... Hope you guys like it!

Psst... hey! Thanks for taking the time to read this. It means a lot, I appreciate it!
